The Mountains are Calling
Mountains inspire me. There is so much to draw from, to discover, and learn. They have the power to thrill, soothe, and captivate—separately or all at once. I recently came across this poem I wrote a while back about the Dolomites. So I thought I'd share it here.
After a long day in the pale palette of the Dolomites
You crawl back down from the weightlessness of the clouds
Your legs, your arms, your head, your eyelids
Everything feels heavier.
Finally home, you wash away the day’s adventure
Refreshed. Revitalized. Ready for bed.
Nature tucks you in and tells you a bedtime story
Lulling you to sleep
There's nothing better than a good night's sleep after a long day in the mountains!
Can you relate?
